NEWS | Osprey donates 50% of SecondLife profits to NHS

Specialist pack brand Osprey has today announced its plan to donate 50% of profits generated by SecondLife sales to the NHS charity organisation.

Osprey donates 50% of SecondLife profits to NHS

The SecondLife platform sells preloved, ex sample and repaired packs to listed members via its website ospreyeurope.com. The organisation chosen for the first half of 2020 will be the NHS, in support of the Covid-19 crisis fund. Going forward, the recipient of the SecondLife charity support fund will be reviewed on a quarterly basis.

“As we prepare to enter a new and unparalleled chapter, it’s more important than ever to recognise our responsibility to the world around us and give back to the community. In light of the current crisis, we have chosen the NHS as the recipient of our fund and we will continue to select important organisations be those physical health, mental health or environmental charities” says Jonathan Petty, Osprey Europe Managing Director.

The announcement follows Osprey’s publication of an open letter to the outdoor community with the message of ‘The Outdoors Beckons’, outlining the brand’s solidarity with outdoor enthusiasts across the world. “Through the principles of collective sympathy, ingenuity and by inspiring others we can prevail” which includes supporting friends, neighbours and local retailers.

The open letter also comes ahead of the launch of a retailer support package to selected partners to help their businesses through shared activity across Osprey Europe’s own digital channels. The wider support package also includes community initiatives, such as Blue Light emergency service discounts, PPE face mask production by Osprey Packs in Colorado and the promotion of physical and mental health campaigns across Osprey’s channels.
